Welcome to our lodge!

JaGambia is a friendly small lodge with two round houses for rent in the authentic fishing-village Tanji. The lodge is located in a quiet area between friendly locals. The ocean, the river and birdreserve are nearby so a lot of different birds come to visit the lodge. And it is far enough from the busy fishmarket to hear or smell (!) nothing. 

 JaGambia has a nice pool and enough space to relax in sun or shadow. 

It is also possible to just visit the lodge, combined with a tour in Tanji. To cool down in the pool and relax, have a drink or a local made lunch/dinner.

About Tanji

Tanji is a town in Gambia, along the Atlantic coast. It is primarily a fishing town and has a big fishmarket. The Tanji Village Museum is where artisans and craftsmen engage in traditional crafts. The Tanji Bird Reserve is located 3 kilometers from the village. 

Tourists visit Tanji to see the traditional wooden boats (piroques) bring in the catch of the day  and see, hear, smell (!) this incredible ‘tableau vivant’.
